There is nothing like a good burger – that stick to your ribs type of food great for curing a hangover or putting you straight to sleep. In my quarter life, I have visited some amazing burger places and all of them serve delicious food that isn’t necessarily nutritious.
I am here to break the mould with the fresh chopped salmon burger which has the best of both worlds; delicious and healthy.
I discovered this recipe in the March edition of Walmart Live Better.
What you’ll need :
- 450g of chopped skinless salmon fillets
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 sliced green onion
- 2 tbsp of chopped fresh dill
- 1 tbsp of lemon juice
- ½ tsp of salt
- ½ of an avocado, sliced
What to do:
Step one: Mix all of the ingredients into a large bowl, making sure everything is combined together and mixed well.
Step two: Spray frying pan with oil over medium heat.
Step three: Scoop a ½ cup portion of the mixture into the frying pan.
Step four: With a spatula make one inch thick and round patty.
Step five: Repeat steps three and four cooking two patties at a time for about three to four minutes or until golden brown. Flip burgers and continue until salmon is cooked through.
In total making these burgers takes about 30-minutes and serves four people.
