It’s a dish I’ve seen on TV a billion times – chicken cordon bleu. It’s a classic recipe, that I’ve decided have some fun with.
Instead of using egg wash and breadcrumbs, I made this chicken cordon bleu recipe easy, healthy and delicious.
What you’ll need:
- 4 chicken breasts, pounded thin
- 4 slices of black forest ham
- 4 slices of Canadian Swiss cheese
- Salt, pepper, and paprika to taste
- 1/4 of a pack of shake and bake
What to do:
Step one: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step two: Dry chicken breasts with paper towel and season with salt, pepper and paprika on both sides.
Step three: Place ham and cheese slices on flattened chicken breasts.
Step four: Roll together from thickest end to thinnest, use a toothpick or two to keep the roll together.
Step five: Place rolls one at a time in a bag with shake and bake, shake the bag until fully coated.
Step six: Place rolls onto baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
The recipe was so easy to make (and SO GOOD)! My mom and I decided to have it three times in one week. If you’re having friends over for dinner – making this recipe one time serves four people. Mmm!
The dish goes well with baked carrots, potato wedges or even a simple green salad.
