Tonight brings us to the summer finale of Pretty Little Liars. In preparation for the few months of A-cation we have, let’s recap the whirlwind of emotions (fear, confusion, loss, more confusion) that an episode of PLL puts us through.
The show is about to begin! Hold the phone, grab a drank and get comfy.

Your face every time you see the girls interact with Ezra. Why do we trust him again?! He is literally the creepiest. Literally, it took Spencer an afternoon of hard labour to MOVE ALL THE FILES AND INFORMATION HE GATHERED BY SPYING ON YOU FOR YEARS. WHAT PART OF THIS IS OKAY?!

Your confusion when the girls continually go running off into the dark to explore abandoned houses. LITERALLY HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU NEED TO GET TRAPPED AND ALMOST MURDERED?!

“Who is this random new character? Why does everybody know them already?”

But your immediate reaction to them is……

Your annoyance whenever a side-storyline that you have zero interest in comes on (I’m looking at you Mike and Mona).

Your thoughts whenever the girls decide to “tail” someone by awkwardly following them and being completely un-sneaky… How have they survived five seasons?!

Your reaction every time this newly sassy Emily makes a dramatic, angry rant.

The moment where a dark figure is mysteriously in their house with 3,098,134 weapons and there is no parental supervision.

When a character suggests that they should finally just go to the police…

Emily’s face = your face for half of the episode while you mentally sift through five seasons of convoluted drama to understand this new twist.

If we drink more will this new plot twist make sense?

Should we try anyways?

The frustration when they get a new text from A, but the font is too small and it passes too quickly for you to read it.

“Wait who is friends with who now? And who hates who? I can’t keep up….” (drinks more wine). Tried my best there are just too many characters!

That moment when you suddenly get a new, juicy piece of information and feel like you are finally getting somewhere.

Only to find out that it lead to an even larger web of lies and confusion.

And of course, the necessary final-scene-shocker that will leave you thirsting for the rest of the season, but also too terrified to check your phone for the next 10-minutes.

After the show, when someone asks why you watch a show for teenaged girls on ABC Family.

We get it! This show is so ridiculous! But somehow you just can’t get enough of their teenaged terror….

And the realization that you need to wait months to figure out what A is up to next leaves you looking like this….

See you in December!
