Sarah

Hi! My name is Sarah Bernstein, but my friends call me Sarah Bee. I am 23-years-old and I am finishing my third year of fine arts at the University of British Columbia Okanagan (UBCO) in Kelowna.

I have a strong passion for photography, as well as design, fashion, music, social media and traveling. I have always had a keen eye for the arts and am looking forward to a career based on these passions.

I was born and raised in Vancouver and I am definitely a city girl at heart, but I love to explore. I have always been drawn to photography and enjoy snapping photos of scenery on my many travels to countries like Israel, Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Croatia and China. I also love to take everyday photos of people and items that spark my interest. Every image captured is so different from the next. Not every photograph turns out the same and there is definitely something so unique about that.

Growing up as an only child, I have gotten the support and love from both my parents who have encouraged me on my path of creativity. When I began my journey to Kelowna, I was unsure as to what I wanted in life and where my passions lay.

It took me a few years to decide and grow into the person I have become. I can honestly say that I am happy! I feel “in my element” and finally feel happy in my own skin. I have learned to express myself in ways that I didn’t think I could. Art has always been a part of who I am. I love to show my true colours through my music, art and photography.

In my spare time, you will find me laughing with friends, drinking tea, making art, playing music, obsessively watching Netflix, attempting to workout and not cleaning my room. Most of my friends say I am quite goofy and can be stubborn at times, but I have a love for everyone and everything around me. I have a creative and quirky outlook on life and I am excited to be part of the A Quarter Young team. I can’t wait to share my ideas and photos with the world!
