Amanda

IMG_7984Hello readers!

My name is Amanda Howlett – full time nerd and part time procrastinator.  I’m a soon to be psychology graduate from the University of Guelph-Humber, with an acceptance in hand to start my Master’s in General Psychology at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.   I’m hoping to one day become a clinical child psychologist and work with kids through a variety of play therapies.

My passion lies in academia, leadership and mental health advocacy.  If that doesn’t capture how nerdy I am, when curling season is in full swing, you can find me on the ice or following the biggest Canadian tournaments out there. I’m also a bargain shopper fanatic, I rarely pay full price for anything and there are more points cards and coupons in my wallet than anything else.  But don’t worry, I know how to be a typical 22-year-old too.  I have a habit of binging on Netflix and spending too much time on social media.

I’m taking a year off between my undergrad and master’s and I’m excited to share the experiences I have with all of you.  From applying to an American institution as a Canadian, to managing to live at home with my parents after five years on my own, to repaying loans while still staying inspired, I’m prepared to be raw and open about my life with you.

Life is about the journey not the destination – thanks for joining me on mine xo.
