Five really cheesy songs for a long distance relationship

I’ve been doing this long distance relationship thing for about a year-and-a-half now. It’s hard, don’t get me wrong, but it also has its perks. Not only do I have an excuse to hop on a plane and fly across the country twice a year, but I also get snail mail. Yup. My partner and I send things to each other. Like, we go to the post office and get tracking numbers and all that.

I’m heading out west next week for a visit (yup, super stoked), and in honour of my trip, I’d like to share with you the five cheesiest songs for a long distance relationship.

Please enjoy.

1. I Want Crazy by Hunter Hayes

Of course, the first thing we all do before buying a one way ticket is burst out in song on our beds.

2. Kiss Me Thru the Phone by Soulja Boy Tell’em

The fact that, “I really wanna kiss ya but I can’t,” is a defining moment in this song just does it for me.

3. Come Back…Be Here by Taylor Swift

All I think of when I hear this song is this.

4. Farewell by Rihanna

This is one of those songs you listen to when it’s pouring rain and you’re sitting on a window seat on public transit. For a split second, you feel like you’re in a music video. You’re also probably wearing a hood.

5. Counting Down the Days by Natalie Imbruglia

Just watch the music video. So early 2000s.

What are five cheesy songs you can think of?

  1. Vanessa Carlton – A Thousand Miles

I’ve been doing ldr since 2009 and now we are already married a month ago :))
Indeed ldr sucks but that feeling when you miss your beloved one and wait for the chance to see each other is beyond amazing. Just be patient, stay in touch, trust each other, and do not try to play “fire” eventhough there is a hot guy/girl around (yes it (nearly) happened to me but i remembered that my bf was always waited for me).

Hope ldr works very well for you both :))
