Every year, I get my Christmas feels by drinking copious amounts of hot cider, getting to wear cozy sweaters and visiting the Toronto Christmas Market in the Distillery District. If you’re on the hunt for those fuzzy feelings that come along with chill of December, you need to visit this market – and you only have a few days left to do so! The last day of the Toronto Christmas Market is Sunday, December 20.
For those who have never travelled to the magical land of twinkly lights, the Distillery is a historic pedestrian area enriched with Victorian-esque buildings and cobblestone walkways. It’s equipped with galleries, restaurants, boutiques and other entertainment, too! During the market, the Distillery continues to show off its charm, so be prepared to enter a world of floating lights and cheer. Buddy the elf would be so proud.
A perfect family outing, or the setting to a romantic date, a stroll through the Distillery is sure to bring you joy! Cute knick knacks and trinkets are featured in wooden booths along the walkways. For the beer aficionados, there are plenty of spots to grab a pint. Be on the lookout for the featured festive mulled wine and ciders, as well. They are full of spice and will warm you right up!
The Distillery is home to unique shops, too. A few of my go to places are the Brick Street Bakery (the smell alone of their fresh baked goodies is worth the lineup). For the chocolate-lovers, the SOMA Chocolatemaker shop has rich, delectable truffles and treats that make my mouth water! As for dinner, my two favourite and restaurants are El Catrin, for the magical atmosphere, and Mill Street Brewery!
For the photo-op lovers (like myself!), no trip would be complete without a photo in front of the larger then life holiday tree! This massive tree has over 18,000 lights and is over 50 ft. tall! Definitely a sight you have to see in person!
Make the Toronto Christmas Market a tradition every holiday season.
